President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan stated, \u201cI congratulate Ye\u015filay on its 98th anniversary and those dedicated to this cause on Ye\u015filay Week, March 1\u20137, in recognition of their selfless efforts in our fight against addiction. I remember with gratitude and respect all our elders who have contributed to Ye\u015filay over the years and have since passed away.\u201d<\/p>\n

President Erdo\u011fan\u2019s post on social media regarding Ye\u015filay Week reads as follows:<\/p>\n

“To ensure a healthy future for our country, it is our important duty\u2014and our patriotic obligation\u2014to combat addiction and harmful habits that could endanger our children and youth on all fronts.”<\/p>\n

@1920Yesilay, one of our country\u2019s most established civil society organizations, aims to be a leading civil society organization that serves as a global model in the fight against addiction; it is consistently, sincerely, and using scientific methods combating addiction to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, technology, and gambling.<\/p>\n

I would like to celebrate the 98th anniversary of Ye\u015filay and Ye\u015filay Week (March 1\u20137) for all those dedicated to this cause, in recognition of their selfless efforts in the fight against addiction. I remember with gratitude and respect all our elders who have contributed to Ye\u015filay over the years and have since passed away.” <\/p>\n
